Brooks had a great 1 month checkup. He is already
1o lbs, 8 oz. He eats like a horse and is still a super, laid back baby.He looks just like Gentry did at 1 month. Gentry is feeling good and was the guest of honor at my schools dance. The student council donated  all the proceeds from the dance to Gentry. We were also interviewed by channel 10 and were on the news that night. A local church also came and donated money to Gentry as well. We are very overwhelmed by everyones generosity. Gentry thought I should celebrate my birthday with a princess cake, which my mom got. I love the picture of Gentry wearing the crown and waving the princess wand. Of course Jerry was not around when I took that picture!!

This week Gentry had his long treatment at the office, including the spinal injection. He cried and yelled during it but as soon as it was over he hopped off the table and sat down on the floor to eat his popcorn and watch a movie. He definitely got over it faster this time. We have 4 more to do during this round of chemo. I put on a picture of him with his backpack of meds so everyone could see. We get a lot of questions about the backpack so I thought it would be easier for everyone to see that he can still move around, he just drags the backpack with him. You can kind of see in the picture that the tube runs out of the bag and is connected under his shirt to his central line. He picked Batman this time! We were in and out of the office quick today and tomorrow he has his vitamins he has to take and we run in to get the pump turned off and turn in the backpack. So it's a busy week for us. Brooks is doing great and has his 4 week checkup on Friday. I can't believe it's been 4 weeks, it doesn't seem like it! He is still a fantastic baby, eats good, sleeps good and just doesn't fuss much. He is looking a lot like Gentry did at 4 weeks!

We got great news on Friday...the lab results for Brooks' newborn screening came back normal. We were so relieved to hear that everything was clear. He is doing great. He eats all the time and is sleeping really well at night. Every morning when Gentry gets up he goes in to look at Brooks sleeping in his crib. I will have to try and get a picture of him standing on the rocking chair and peeking over the side of the crib, it's pretty cute. Gentry is feeling okay, he is on a steroid right now so of course he is hungry all the time and his emotions are a little out of whack. The smallest thing will upset him and he will have a total meltdown and then a few minutes later he will be running around playing. We finish the steroids and have a quick chemo treatment on Wednesday.
